5 'magische' Inhaltsstoffe asiatischer Kosmetik, die deine sensible Haut zum strahlen bringen [Teil 1]

Quick question - do you know what Loquat is, or Adzuki beans? Don't, no worries, you're in the best of company. Today we introduce you to almost magical ingredients that will make your skin glow.

Adzuki Beans

Japanese women have long understood the secrets of a glowing natural beauty. Pink Adzuki beans have been used as a face wash in Japan for 1200 years, and it is still popular today- its effectiveness as a beauty treatment is really time-tested. The wash leaves the skin glowing, tightened and silky-smooth.

The Adzuki bean contains high level of the natural foaming agent saponin, making it perfect as a cleanser. The naturally occurring foam exfoliates & removes dead skin particles, all the while cleansing any impurities. In addition, when used on the face, it reduces skin irritation and other skin sensitivities like clearing redness. The removal of dead skin and the clearing of pores targets acne at the source, to keep your face glowing and fresh.

Loquat - also called the Chinese plum, is one of the earliest fruits cultivated in Asia. It's extract has antioxidant properties similar to those of green tea.

The fruit is an excellent source for Vitamin A and its leaves have significant anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities.

In addition Loquats are a good source for minerals like iron, copper, calcium, manganese, etc.  Manganese is used in the body as a co factor for anti-oxidant enzymes. Copper is required during the production of red blood cells where as iron is required for cellular oxidation and proper blood circulation in the body.

Centella Asiatica

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as in Ayurveda, Centella Asiatica (known as Tiger grass) has been firmly anchored as a medicinal plant for centuries. Chinese translate it with 'elixir for long life'. The term Tiger grass goes back to a legend according to which injured tigers roll themselves in the herb of the plant, in order to recover faster. Exciting, isn't it?!

Centella Asiatica is found in damp areas throughout Asia. Uses in medicine date back to the 17th century. The "herb of longevity" improves circulation as well as the synthesis of collagen and skin tissue. Centella Asiatica is especially beneficial for improving elasticity – goodbye sagging skin!

Creams with Tiger grass are a big deal in Asia - due to their regenerative effect, are used to promote wound healing, for scar care or for eczema treatment.

Green Tea

The benefits of green tea are no secret. That's probably why it's also called 'liquid Jade' due to its colour and plenty of health benefits. The beloved drink contains high concentrations of antioxidants - while drinking green tea has impressive effects for your inner health, it's equally powerful when used on skin.

It's a real slow-aging wonder - the green tea antioxidants are excellent fighting premature aging caused by free radical damage, one of the leading causes. Those antioxidants eliminate free radicals that can cause fine lines and wrinkles - a special antioxidant is EGCG. Scientific studies have shown that EGCG effectively works to reactivate the reproduction process of skin cells, giving you a healthier glow.

Packed with vitamin B and vitamin E, green tea supports your essential skin health. Whilst vitamin B helps to maintain collagen production which increases skin elasticity, supports vitamin E the cell regeneration and works to hydrate and nourish your skin.

Bamboo- the Asian symbol of longevity, strength, tenacity, and flexibility. Consider bamboo as a natural, exotic alternative to silicone and a multi-Tasker! When you put bamboo on the skin, it goes to find and fight the free radicals that cause premature wrinkles, creates a smooth, soft feeling of the skin and reduces dark spots caused by melanin. No wonder its used extensively in Korean skincare!

This powerhouse ingredient works to heal and regenerate your skin. Bamboo contains ~70% of natural silicia, an organic compound that is essential for your skin looking healthy. Its extract is also rich in many essential compounds, like amino acids and Flavonoids, which are packed with antioxidants that protect your skin from oxidative stress as well as shields the skin from damaging UV rays (of course you still need an SPF!!!) that not only will prematurely age skin but also irritate acne-prone skin.

When you’re dealing with acne, you’re also likely affected by a damaged moisture barrier, which is the outer barrier of your skin that protects you from bacteria and environmental pollutants. Bamboo extract helps strengthen that barrier and protect and restore your skin’s resilience. A stronger barrier makes it easier for skin to fight against acne-causing bacteria.

Soon to be continued!!!
